Milestones

Assalamualaikum warahmatullah...

Semalam ana tidur petang...5pm... bila sedar...tup tup dah pukul 930pm...punyalah lama ana tidur.... su tak kejutkan pulak... ler nak makan pun tak kejutkan... takper2... ana telah habiskan makanan semalam... sebab semua orang dahmakan... :D

I am in the lab right now... semester ni buat subjek software engineering principles and tools..nak tau apa ana belajar.... semua pasal UNIX...giler betul subjek nih.... the lecturer assumes that all the students know how to program and are fluent in the UNIX commands when he teaches... cuba bayangkan... u dont know anything about C at all.. and the lecturer is teaching you a subject..about how to program wisely is C... he is not teaching you how to program the C language... he assumes u know how to program it already...and is just teaching you good programming techniques... so basically u need to at least have some foundation basic in C before u can start to learn how good programming techniques.. like learning how to sew... you first learn how to sew.. but u may not sew very well.. maybe the threads might come out messy or u might make small thread rolls on the material... its only after u have gone thru this learning process of how to sew.. that's when a professional sewer(i m not sure if this word exits but u get my point..) comes n teach you how to make sure no mess is made when u sew... how to make your sewing patternns look neat n nice... you wouldnt be able to understand what the professional sewer is talking about if you didnt know how to sew at all before that...

Well programmers out there might get my point... i dont know any UNIX shell commands at all... and he teaches stuffs like we have at least some basic level of understanding, which we don't. Well i hope things will get much better..... :( I think guys have a larger thinking capacity..when it comes to these techy stuffs... i can never understand manuals in the man command.... their jargons are just tooooooo techy...yikes.... but there's nothing better i can do other than software eng..i dont like anything else much.. except for maybe commerce... its a pretty interesting course..but i am already doing that... so can't complain :'(

anyways...got to continue programming... spent 6 hours in from of the pc last night... i FINALLY realised how important contacts are in the computer field... i went online last night.. and i actually went in irc... i usually dont go in there bcoz i am interested in the environment in there.. its like guys n girls are mingling freely... anyway.. i went in irc.. and went in the #unix channel... and tadaaa.... i managed to get somebody to help me understand my course notes.. and i contacted old icq oversea friends who are experienced in the UNIX field... gosh didn't know they would mean so important to me now. i managed to understand like 2 scripts...in 6 hours..yup... but i learnt lots of stuffs somehow. i think i have to stay up late at night often coz its usually day there and night time in australia...thats when they are all online in the office. Allahumma yassir wala toassir....
